MINIMUM NUMBER AND DURATION OF VISITS

As of May 3, 2021 we are implementing a minimum number of visits per day to ensure adequate care of all client pets. The minimum number of visits for dogs is 3 per day on non-travel days. The minimum number of visits for cats is 1 per day on non-travel days. You are welcome to schedule more than the minimum number of visits each day, but please do not ask us to do less. It is important to us that your pet is happy and healthy each day you are away and one way to make certain is by visiting your pet at this frequency, at minimum.

Starting October 1, 2026, all visits involving multi-species households (such as dogs and cats) or properties requiring check-in coordination (like concierge desks or gated communities) will require a minimum duration of 30 minutes. This policy allows our sitters the time needed to safely access your home and give every pet the individualized attention they deserve.

SHARED PET-SITTING VISITS/OTHER SERVICE WORKERS IN THE HOME
Our company policy is to not share pet-sitting visits with clients' family members, friends, or other care providers unless those care providers are insured, professional pet sitters who are willing and able to communicate with our team.

We want you to be comfortable with the amount of care and attention your pet is receiving, but we have found that sharing visits has unintended consequences that you may not have considered.

To ensure there is no confusion regarding the pet's feeding and exercise/potty schedule or the care of the home (setting the alarm, locking doors, etc.), all pet-sitting visits must be completed by our company in your absence.

We find that this allows us to provide optimal care and ensure your pet is healthy, happy and safe. If pet care is needed before or after our scheduled visits, we will make our best effort to communicate with other care providers to give and receive updates on your pets' care.

If a friend or family member will be inside your home while you are away, please let us know in advance and leave their contact information for us in your home and/or via text.

If a service worker (housekeeper, pest control, lawn care, pool cleaner, etc.) will be visiting your home, please notify us in advance so that we can arrange our schedule to not be there at the same time so that we can both complete our assigned duties. If someone needs to be present for a repairman to enter your home and you would like for one of our pet sitters to ensure your pets are comfortable during this time, this service will be billed separately than pet care at an hourly rate (minimum $30 charge).

CANCELLATIONS AND UNSCHEDULED VISITS
In the event client will be returning home prior to the end of scheduled visits, the client agrees to notify pet sitter immediately to avoid being charged for unnecessary visit(s). A 50% credit will be given to client for the remaining visits and will be available for client's use for up to one year.

If a pet sitter arrives to a pet sit to find a client home, the client will be charged 100% for the visit. If further pet sits are not needed, visits will be credited at 50% and the credit will be available for client's use for up to one year.

If client plans to lengthen their trip, they must notify pet sitter a minimum of 12 hours in advance in order to be added to pet sitter's schedule. This is not a guarantee of continued care and services. This is not a guarantee that pet sitter will provide exact care and services as previously hired, due to other scheduled client visits. If pet sitter is unavailable to extend their services past the original booking, the client is solely liable and responsible for finding care for their pet(s) in a timely manner. Client agrees to pay all additional fees incurred promptly upon their return.

Unplanned/unscheduled visits (after the original end date of service) must be paid within 3 days of service. Payment can be made electronically or checks may be sent to P.O. Box 11256, Jacksonville, FL 32239-1256.

If there is a need to cancel scheduled visits after payment is made but before pet sits begin, a 100% credit will be kept on file and will be available for client's use for up to one year.

Scheduled services can only be canceled by the Client. Third party cancellations will not be accepted except via legal power of attorney.

SUPPLIES
Client agrees to have enough food, medication and other needed supplies for the pet sitter to perform the services agreed to between the Client and the pet sitter. Should the pet sitter need to purchase additional supplies, the pet sitter will notify client prior to purchase and obtain consent, if able. Client agrees to reimburse pet sitter for all re-supply charges upon receipt of proof of expense. A re-supply service of $10 will also be applied.

SECURITY CAMERAS AND ALARMS
We absolutely understand the need and use of security cameras and alarms in our clients' homes.

If alarms are in use during our visits, the code MUST be entered into the client's profile so that the sitter(s) have access to the code to enter/ exit the property. Alarms cannot be turned off by the client "when the sitter arrives" in case there is a delay in communication or the sitter is unable to reach the client upon arrival. Pet sitters agree to be discreet with any and all access codes to our client homes.

If security cameras are in use during overnight pet sits, we ask that the sitter be given permission to block the view of the camera while the sitter is there during prolonged periods of care if the camera is located in/near the bedroom or other room that the sitter will be spending the majority of their time and/or sleeping. We believe that everyone has the right to privacy and it becomes uncomfortable for our sitters if cameras are continuously activated when the sitter is in a client's home overnight. Pet sitters agree to return the camera view to its original status when they leave the pet sit.

EMERGENCY AND VETERINARY CONTACTS
It is imperative that emergency and veterinary contacts be input into the pet care system for the pet sitter's reference in case the Client cannot be contacted during an urgent or emergent event. An emergency contact person should be someone who can make decisions on the client's behalf in case of an emergency, including but not limited to care of pets, flooding, and electrical problems. Pet sitter will always attempt to contact the client first, but in the event that the client cannot be reached, the emergency contact will be contacted for decision making purposes. Pet sitter will not be responsible for costs associated with contacting or enlisting the assistance of the emergency contact and all fees will be paid directly by client for emergency services. Client agrees to release pet sitter of all liabilities related to transportation, treatment, and expense arising under urgent/emergency circumstances and will make arrangements to pay for treatment for pets directly to their veterinarian. Client agrees to contact their preferred veterinarian before leaving and provide a credit card, care credit, blank check or other form of payment if they will not be available via phone. Client agrees to notify pet sitter of veterinary changes that take place prior to the beginning of service. Should the specific veterinarian identified by Client be unavailable, pet sitter is authorized to approve medical and/or emergency treatment (excluding euthanasia) as recommended by a licensed veterinarian in the state of Florida. Client agrees to reimburse pet sitter for any emergency-related expenses incurred, plus any additional fees caused by emergency conditions within two days of those costs being incurred by the pet sitter.

PET SITTER ILLNESS OR PERSONAL EMERGENCY
In the event of personal emergency or severe illness of assigned pet sitter, Client shall be notified immediately. If the Client prefers to make other arrangements for pet care on their own, they will be given that option in the case of pet sitter illness or personal emergency. If no such arrangements can be made, Client authorizes pet sitter to arrange for another qualified pet sitter to fulfill the responsibility as set forth in this contract. When available, another sitter under contract with Echo Pet Care will fulfill this role and is covered under pet sitter's insurance policy. Alternatively, another insured pet sitter will be procured by Echo Pet Care to fulfill the responsibility.

INJURY CAUSED BY PETS
In the event pet sitter or third party ("victim") is bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease or ailment received from Client's pet(s), it will be the Client's responsibility to pay all medically related costs and damages incurred by pet sitter/victim.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Client agrees to release pet sitter from any and all harm caused by the following:

INCLEMENT WEATHER OR NATURAL DISASTER pet sitter is entrusted to use best judgment under the circumstances in caring for Client's pet(s) and Client's property under such conditions. Pet sitter shall be held harmless for consequences resulting from these decisions. In the case of predictable inclement weather or natural disaster, client will be consulted on care for pet(s) and home and instructions will be followed to the best of pet sitter's ability.

Client will be notified and authorizes pet(s) to be placed in a kennel facility, if needed, with all charges there from to be charged to client. A full refund for pet sitting services will be given in these circumstances.

MISSING OR LOST PETS
The maximum monetary liability that pet sitter will assume for the loss of a pet shall be limited to the replacement value of the pet as directed by the laws of the State of Florida. Pet sitter will make every effort to locate lost or missing pet(s) if the pet becomes lost or missing during the time that the pet sitter is visiting with the pet. It is advised that ALL pets be microchipped and wear a collar with contact information affixed on or to the collar.

Dogs and cats that have access to the outside when a human is not present are excluded from this clause. The pet sitter will not assume liability for pets lost or stolen from the client's home if there is a dog or cat door present in the home.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF NON-COVERED CIRCUMSTANCES

The persons executing this contract represents and warrant that they have read and fully understand the terms and conditions of this contract and have full authority to execute this contract and to bind the party on whose behalf they sign.
